About
Mission
Desert Woman Botanicals was started by Monica Rude, who has spent over 30 years studying the healing properties of medicinal plants. She used her findings to create high quality herbal remedies. These products are sold locally in New Mexico as well as across the nation. Her philosophy is that freshly harvested and home-grown herbs are the key to creating effective remedies.
Our mission is to harness the wisdom of plants to create natural, effective, and ethically made products that support wellness and self-care. We believe in honoring the earth’s cycles, working in harmony with the environment, and inspiring others to live more naturally.
Every step we take—from sourcing to packaging—is guided by a commitment to sustainability, transparency, and the belief that self-care should be both wholesome and accessible.
Quality
We use wild crafted and organic herbs and the highest quality ingredients. Our herbs are grown without chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides, and no GMOs.
Our cane alcohol and apple cider vinegar are certified organic. Our olive oil is certified organic and cold pressed. We take time and great care to prepare by hand, and in small batches, to ensure quality and provide you with the finest herbal products.

Desert Woman Botanicals has found its next owner:
Liorah Crockett
A native of northern New Mexico, spent her childhood and most of her adult life in southern Colorado, cultivating gardens wherever she landed, she co- owned and operated a ranch where she developed her particular love of sheep and plants. In 2022 Liorah made the move to southern New Mexico and started River Road Farm located in the beautiful Gila Valley southwest of Silver City.
The farm focuses on natural husbandry of sheep, cattle and pigs as well as growing herbs, vegetables and flowers. We support the farm-to-table movement by offering our exceptional pasture raised meats for sale to individuals and restaurants through direct sales and farmers markets.
Liorah plans to expand on her herb garden, growing as many ingredients as she can to produce the well-known Desert Woman products as well as promoting products she has developed.
